My clients come see me for two reasons; to address re-occurring pain patterns, or for stress relief. Oftentimes, these two needs overlap.
I offer therapeutic massage for people seeking general stress reduction and relaxation. My massage sessions are based on a thorough understanding of muscular anatomy, massaging your major muscle groups not only to release tension, but also to achieve balance and improve joint mobility. A massage session can be primarily passive (and very soothing!) for the client.
Many of my clients initially come in because they have some degree of discomfort or acute/chronic pain. Recognizing everyone’s uniqueness, I customize sessions to best meet your body’s needs. These bodywork sessions are more interactive as we continually reassess together how the work is affecting your symptoms and overall physical comfort.
My clients tell me that using the more familiar and relaxing techniques of massage helps integrate the treatment work, and makes the session both relaxing and therapeutic.
The benefits of a session don’t end when you leave the office. An important component of our work together is developing personalized stretching and strengthening exercises to help you maintain the progress achieved in the session. Unlike many other modalities, NKT and NMR addresses dysfunctional movement patterns at their source, in the motor control center of the brain. This creates new pathways that lead to more efficient and constructive patterns of movement. These customized exercises we develop reinforce the muscular balance, and encourages your body to make these new and constructive patterns permanent. You are an active participant in your wellness. By integrating the movement methods learned in the session, the improvements become sustainable.
“The past 30 years of swinging a hammer and soldering pipes is catching up with me. I now experience aches and pains I never had before and my physical therapist and chiropractor have not been able to help me resolve them. Larry’s NKT work has made a tremendous difference. For someone like me who is hands-on and likes to understand how things work, the concept behind NKT — that the practitioner works with me, not just on me —resonates, and gives me not only pain relief, but a sense of control." — David, general contractor
